If you’re any thing like your humble, Horrorlust scribe then your love of horror extends to the realm of comics! It is with happiness and excitement that I can report that Creepshow will return to comic book shelves this fall with Volume 3 of the hit series!
It can be argued that it was the comic medium that first offered the horror genre the experimental canvas required to take root in our collective imagination. Trailblazers like EC Comics provided an outlet for bold artists to bring to the masses stories not just with chills and thrills, but tales laced with subversive social commentary and biting political satire.
When Creepshow comics first, and finally, hit shelves just two years ago, it was celebrated by fans as long overdue. Named after and inspired first by the 1982 film written by Stephen King and directed by George A. Romero, but more directly a result of Greg Nicotero’s Shudder series of the same name, Creepshow comics continue the longstanding tradition of macabre and grisly shortform storytelling splashed with an arterial spray of gallows humor.
Creepshow Vol. 3 Issue 1 will debut on comic book shelves Wednesday, September 25, 2024 with two brand new tales of terror! Thus far three issues have been announced for 2024, with Issue 2 and Issue 3 set to release on October 23rd and November 27th, respectively. Boy, does it feel like a fine time to revisit my personal collection!
