Horrorlust was founded in 2011 as both a review site and chronicle of my experiences inside haunted attractions throughout Michigan and Ohio. In the time since, I’ve visited more than 100 unique locations from Cincinnati to Mackinaw City. I’ve had the pleasure to meet a multitude of owner/operators as well as countless, colorful personalities that you can read all about on the pages of this site. I even had the opportunity to see things from the other side of the industry when I joined my local Jaycees chapter where I served as Chairman, Marketing Director, and queue line actor of the annual haunted house project.

I have an inexhaustible passion for the Halloween season and Horrorlust is my keepsake. I was captivated by the Fear Finder Newspaper as a child in the 1990s and then taken with the mysterious Zioptis Foundation during the 2000s. Both of those entities were a direct inspiration for everything I produce under the Horrorlust banner.

In 2025, I added a digital publication to the fold — Horrorlust Halloween Zine! In the spirit of the unparalleled Fear Finder, Horrorlust Halloween Zine promotes the haunted house and horror industry. It is available for download free of charge during the Halloween season right here at Horrorlust.

On occasion, I also write about horror across mediums such as film, television, literature, and video games.

  1. I got a card from you last night while clowning around at Huron turkey farms. Curious as to what you were looking for?

    • I’m interested in all facets of haunted attractions. On occasion I have had the opportunity to interview owners and operators; I think it would be great to add actors to the mix as well. Horrorlust has a Facebook as well — if you’re interested in sharing some of your stories as an actor in a haunt that would be a great place to chat.
