There was a time in the not so distant past that Metro Detroit was known as the “Haunted House Capital of the World.” As a Michigan native, and lover of all things spooky, that distinction was a point of pride for years. But the time has come to give our neighbor to the south it’s flowers. The Buckeye State far surpasses the Mitten in sheer quantity of haunted locations, and boasts dozens of high quality attractions.
Below is a list of notable, Ohio haunted attractions that will be open for operation in 2024. While this list is not exhaustive by any stretch, it does serve to highlight some of the most well known and interesting attractions the state has to offer. Due to the size of Ohio, and the abundance of attractions, I’ve organized this list by major, geographic regions.
The bottom of this list features a handful of attractions sprinkled across the State of Ohio that could not fit neatly into any of the highlighted areas, but are each worthy of a mention in their own right.
