The Magic of Fatherhood

I became a father last winter when my son, Lincoln, was born. It was a proud and surreal experience. I take a lot of joy in being a dad and I know that in years to come he and I will carve pumpkins, plot scares and construct wicked costumes. Tonight, Lincoln will get his first taste of fall traditions when his mom and I accompany him to Hallowe’en Nights in Greenfield Village.

I worked at The Henry Ford Museum in various capacities for a year so it will be nice to revisit some old stomping grounds and see a few old friends. Greenfield Village does possess an authentic charm and is an ideal place to stage a Halloween experience of old. I believe it will be a memorable experience and a fun way to introduce my curious, bright-eyed boy to the magical holiday that is Halloween.

He and I will share many spooky adventures together as he grows up but this will always be the first. It does my heart good to share this passion and tradition with him. Here’s to family, here’s to fatherhood.
